Annmarie is the founding attorney of Giblin Law PLLC, which practices cyber and privacy law, related legal consultant work, and all types of general litigation. Annmarie is a cyber law thought leader. She identifies and explains potential cyber legal trends and changes and is working on creating a blog that will be available to clients and colleagues to share her thought leadership. She regularly speaks at various types of corporate cyber legal trainings and private audience events. Annmarie developed an early expertise in cyber law when the body of law was still in its formation stage and utilizes her extensive litigation experience to keep abreast of all facets of cyber law as it continues to expand and grow. As cyber and privacy law started to merge into one, her thought leadership and cyber knowledge allowed for an easy inclusion of this practice area as well. She has been able to apply this knowledge on an international basis, monitoring international cyber and privacy legal trends, and following them as they become issues in the United States.
Annmarie is a litigator at heart. Having practiced “in the trench” litigation for well over 10 years, she brings a litigator’s eye to every client engagement. Her goal is to identify and address potential problems and attempt to plan for and avoid the same problems as much as possible, should the matter end up in litigation. Annmarie has litigated a wide variety of cases. Everything from smaller civil claims up to multi-district nationwide litigation. She has also litigated in a wide variety of subject areas from medical malpractice and personal injury to complex insurance coverage and commercial cases, product liability, and environmental torts. Annmarie is also an experienced drafter, having spent a little over 2 years as the global cyber attorney for a large multinational insurance carrier and drafting its insurance policies and endorsements. In this role, Annmarie was able to put her cyber thought leadership to work, advising the business on potential and emerging cyber law issues.
She is married and has 2 young children, who both keep her young and age her mercilessly. In addition to being a voracious reader and cook, Annmarie also enjoys spending time with her family, movies, and watching major league baseball. She is also a member of her local PTA and has worked with a charity in the past to help with the homelessness crisis in New York City.
